State legislators have pushed to raise taxes on alcohol in a legislative briefing on Feb. 9, backed by a December report that drinking caused almost 5% of all deaths in Massachusetts from 2015 to 2019.

Red light cameras nearing vote in Massachusetts Senate

The State House took up an automated enforcement bill Thursday to install cameras at red lights to photograph the license plates of cars breaking traffic laws. A vote was initially expected on the same day, but the Senate decided to delay the decision.
