It’s understandable that the government was unprepared for the crisis and vaccine supplies are low nationwide. It’s up to Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and the federal government to increase supply to meet the demands. However, the state should re-evaluate its distribution plan so it is more equitable for all.
Boston University is currently moving forward with COVID-19 vaccinations of students with two or more medical conditions, but the process is experiencing setbacks from a limited supply, said a BU Medical Advisory Group member.
An additional 1 million people are now eligible to schedule appointments, according to the press release, but due to “extremely high demand for appointments and limited vaccine supply,” it could take some residents more than a month to schedule one.
