Men’s soccer suffers heavy 5-1 loss at Brown

Coming off its first win of the season in a conference matchup against Army West Point, the Boston University men’s soccer team traveled to face Brown University in Rhode Island on Tuesday. The Terriers recorded their second defeat of the season –– a 5-1 loss and the worst goal differential since a 0-4 loss against Colgate University in November 2017.

Basketball teams begin conference play during intersession, hockey resumes on Jan. 3

Winter break is just around the corner, but some Terriers are not going to be taking too much time for themselves. The men’s and women’s basketball and hockey teams all have a full slate of games, including plenty of in-conference play. Each team has different expectations for the back half of their seasons, as the men’s hockey and women’s basketball teams are under particular pressure due to their postseason success last season, but all the teams have plenty of exciting games on their schedules. Here are some to keep an eye on.

Women’s basketball win on opening night at the buzzer over UMass Lowell

With just seconds left, senior forward Caitlin Weimar turned around and took a right-handed hook shot as Case Gym went silent and held its breath. As the buzzer sounded, the ball swished through the net. With a roaring crowd as witness, the Boston University women’s basketball team began the 2023-2034 season with a win, beating University of Massachusetts Lowell 60-58.
