One of us is going to have to change: Matching my outfits with BU building styles | It’s All Been Done Before

Erica Schwartz February 28, 2025
I love to feel as if I’ve traveled back in time as I walk through different buildings on campus. In fact, I decided to challenge myself to dress to match the styles and eras of BU’s diverse dwellings and truly feel like a time traveler.

Lanvin’s ‘À LA MAISON’: Celebrating Jeanne Lanvin’s timeless elegance

Rachel Yu January 30, 2025
The looks, details and overall atmosphere of this collection portrayed Lanvin’s return to its original, iconic roots. Ultimately, the collection honored the fundamental mark Jeanne Lanvin left on the House. Especially as it was Copping’s first season with Lanvin, many can say he certainly fulfilled the House’s values and stylistic foundations through his designs, leaving the fashion world eagerly awaiting his future collections.

It’s a Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy winter!

Chloe Saint Mard January 29, 2025
Now that “brat summer” has had its time, I declare Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy season officially open. Her style — effortless and undeniably chic — is a timeless blueprint for the colder weather, with a sort of elegance that speaks quietly but powerfully. My grandma the trendsetter | It’s All Been Done Before

Erica Schwartz October 9, 2024
The afternoon sun streams in through the eyelet cotton curtains, coating the room in a warm amber glow. A collage of clothing items lies on the pink and green patchwork comforter: A few stray scarves, two woolen army hats, a small children’s shirt embroidered with multicolored cross-stitching. These are items my grandma would take out to show me while we wait for her friends to arrive for a game of Mahjong.

How vintage fashion has changed my life | It’s All Been Done Before

Erica Schwartz September 25, 2024
I was wearing a navy, sleeveless Gunne Sax prairie dress that brushed my legs just above the ankles when my friend told me a girl had given me the rudest look.  The dress has a delicate floral pattern all over, with blue velvet ribbons and delicate pearl buttons on the bodice. I love this dress. It’s one of the few Gunne Sax pieces I’ve found that doesn’t require the wearer to be taller than 5-foot-6 and have a bra size below a B cup.

There is no real way to “look gay”

Lea Rivel October 26, 2023
Media has often shown society that the way to show that you’re a queer woman (whether that be lesbian, bisexual, pansexual or any other label), is to dress more masculine, carry yourself a certain way or overtly wear rainbow colors. Because of this, people often have a narrow perspective of how we look and dress.
