Stage Troupe stuns beyond a reasonable doubt in ‘Twelve Angry Jurors’

Paris Hugley March 30, 2025
What is justice? How long does it take for an old man to get down the hall? How do you skillfully stab a man?

The famous “Peanuts World” was brought to life by Boston University’s Stage Troupe’s exquisite adaptation of the 1967 Broadway musical production “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown,” which ran from Feb. 27 to March 1 in the Student Theater at Agganis Arena.

‘Watching Kermit the Frog’s PG-13 restrictions get torn off’: Susan Linn’s ‘WHAT THE DUCK?!?’

Ellen Dong March 3, 2025
Performing a stand up comedy puppet show sounded unreal before attending “WHAT THE DUCK?!?” — but what was more unreal was having a puppet deliver political satire on the United States.

REVIEW: Finneas steps into his own spotlight at MGM Music Hall

Priyal Patel February 26, 2025
As Finneas settled in front of the piano, the first somber notes of “Starfucker” echoed throughout the venue. The dark blue lighting put a spotlight directly on him, just as the song spotlighted his vocal talent and ability.

REVIEW: Odie Leigh should already be on your mind

Addison Schmidt November 12, 2024
Back in 2021, Odie Leigh, a singer-songwriter from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, posted a song she wrote on TikTok, and it went viral. It’s a common story that usually spells one of two fates for budding stars: a one-hit-wonder rise and fall, or a quick skyrocket to stardom. For Leigh, the answer was somewhere in between.

REVIEW: BU Stage Troupe’s ‘Carrie’ reveals the power of a revenge prank gone wrong

Kavitha Koshkarian November 7, 2024
What started out as a light-hearted teen drama slowly took a dark turn as the intersection of religion, shame and blame echoed throughout the choruses of “Carrie: The Musical.” Members of Stage Troupe, Boston University’s oldest extracurricular performing arts group, brought this haunting tale to life at the Student Theater at Agganis Arena from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2.

A Sweet Journey: Exploring macarons for an uncommon autumn break

Keke Gao November 29, 2023
French macarons — which originated during the Renaissance — have become my favorite snack during busy days of writing and studying. Macarons are seemingly a top choice in French bakeries, probably because they go great with hot black tea or coffee. So why not make them a staple for autumn and winter?

Faye Webster: a dreamy voice in a world of chaos

Obioma Eke November 9, 2023
In my senior year of high school, I listened to Faye Webster every single day. Whether I was driving home from school or doing homework, her smooth, dreamy voice was always playing in the background. I finally got to see her in concert this year, and this experience made her one of my favorite artists of all time.

My take on Stage Troupe’s dazzling ‘Murder on the Orient Express’

Ricardo Pons October 25, 2023
I love the original novel, which has been clear to me since I first read it, but much praise has been directed toward its intricate storyline and fascinating characters. Therefore, focusing on the factors largely controlled by the members of the BU Stage Troupe is the best course of action.
