There is an innate desire to romanticize the mundane and to dwell in the sounds, scenes and words of thoughtful people. As senseless as it may seem to mull over thinking, creators like Mecey show just how comforting hearing one’s thoughts can be. This art of expression appeared to be lost on the app.
This may seem like a pretty intuitive or obvious notion. However, upon finding the literature on place attachment, I’ve found a way to make sense of my emotional turmoil as graduation approaches.
As a freshman, I’ve been told that I have a whole four years to decide my academic and career paths. I know that I will have to settle for only one or two of my interests in the end. I entered BU with 32 AP credits. I thought this would give me an edge over my peers, potentially allowing me to graduate early. This was far from the truth.
As the impending threat of moral and intelligent AI looms, I’ll be nervously biting my nails and appreciating the humanity of writing while it still lasts.
Since people are so eager to share what they’ve learned over these past couple of rather unprecedented years, my greatest takeaway is that uncertainty is the only master of our lives.
