Lawsuit filed to prevent ICE from arresting people in courthouses

Massachusetts district attorneys, public defenders and a community group filed a lawsuit in federal court Monday against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to prevent the agency from arresting and detaining immigrants at courthouses in the state.

Trump proposal threatens immigrant safety in Massachusetts

The Trump Administration proposed a new policy Saturday that prevents many U.S.immigrants who depend on public assistance programs — like food stamps — from obtaining permanent residency or U.S. citizenship. Several Boston-based organizations and residents were vocal in their opposition to the new proposal.
