To address the potential impact of the moratorium ending Oct. 17, Boston Mayor Martin Walsh announced the City will take action to curtail evictions while connecting those who are evicted with the resources available to them.

Mattapan fire leaves 17 displaced, $150,000 in damages, authorities say

The fire Tavares witnessed occurred at 74 Wildwood St., a 2 ½-story occupied residential building in Mattapan. The two-alarm fire caused approximately $150,000 in damages and displaced 17 residents, according to the Boston Fire Department Twitter page.
