EDITORIAL: The University’s ‘diversity’ marketing is misleading, hurtful

BU’s marketing — and the handful of diversity victories — it clings to is not representative of its reality. Though it may be implementing anti-racist policies, the change is not visible in classrooms, on campus or at an administrative level.

Every college student craves a homemade meal from time to time, and BU College of Communication alumna Ivana Strajin was no exception. Strajin created the multicultural food documentary web series “HOMEMADE," which highlights international recipes and the stories behind them, after being inspired for her love of multi-generational dishes.

I don’t feel truly connected with two major parts of my life. And of course, I am not white enough to fit in with my friends or society. I am tired of discrimination and I am tired of feeling ostracized in this country. We are supposed to be moving towards a wider acceptance of cultures, but just wondering, can we move faster?
