Broadway’s “Good Night and Good Luck”

Erica Schwartz March 18, 2025
As soon as the curtains pulled back and the set pieces rolled in, I was amazed by the level of detail that went into the set. The smoky cigarettes that nearly every performer totes around the stage add another layer of sensory detail that brings you physically into the world the show is recreating.

Ask Abby (Or Analise): Are all men really trash?

Analise Bruno March 2, 2025
I’m kidding, but it's important to remember why we sometimes make generalizations as a society. Not all bees will sting you, but still we’re scared of bees. We don’t say, “only some bees will sting you”  because that’s a given — it’s redundant. In that same way, no one really means all men are trash. Not all men are the same as Mr. Big.

A love letter to the strangest show I’ve ever watched: ‘Twin Peaks’

Lea Tran January 29, 2025
“This is like some kind of miracle. A phenomenon,” shouted Deputy Gordon Cole, a “Twin Peaks” character played by the beloved David Lynch. And that’s what “Twin Peaks” was — some sort of phenomenon. It’s a show that proved TV could be a medium for artistic storytelling.

REVIEW: Aesthetics meet ambition in viral Emerson student film Glory & Gore

Isabella Laikin December 8, 2024
Emerson students and creative soulmates Gianna Cavarozzi and Lyanna Zammas co-wrote and co-directed a dark, witty exploration of power, corruption and masculinity — seen through a distinctly feminine lens. This 44 minute short film transcends the expectations of a student project with the transformative power of women-led storytelling by its women-run crew.

REVIEW: Goodness knows I’m holding space for ‘Wicked’

Eli Pekelny December 4, 2024
My expectations for the film were high, as were my standards. While excited, I was unsure what to expect. The verdict is in: I absolutely love the movie “Wicked.”

Like movies? Then stop watching trailers | Still Rolling

Ada Sussman October 1, 2024
Trailers might be standard procedure in movie promotion, but they're not as innocuous as they seem. In a quest for sales, trailers often misrepresent movie plots, disappointing readers and film fans.

What Emily Dickinson taught me

Isabella Panichi November 1, 2023
Emily’s ability to indulge her emotions are of course, rich in imagery, metaphor and color. I think at times it may feel intimidating to try to articulate the extent of your feelings. What conveys too little? What precisely conveys what I feel? Does this sound pretty enough?
