Massachusetts ranks highest in U.S. for underage drinking

Massachusetts has the highest rate of underage alcohol use in the country: among people ages 12-20, nearly 29 percent had consumed alcohol and 20 percent had participated in binge drinking, according to research analyzed by the American Addiction Centers.

HIV outbreak occurs among Boston drug users

Public health officials have diagnosed six new HIV infections in the city among people who have injected drugs since November 2018 — the majority of which occurred in January, according to an advisory from the Boston Public Health Commission and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
