Boston City Council passed a resolution recognizing Nov. 28 as National Day of Mourning and discussed the establishments of the Office of Inspector General and the Mayor’s Office of LGBTQ+ Advancement during its Wednesday meeting at City Hall Plaza.

Boston takes different approach to Northampton’s ‘sanctuary city’ resolution for protecting, supporting LGBTQ+ residents

While Northampton City Council is considering a resolution to declare the city a “sanctuary” for transgender and gender-diverse individuals, Boston has yet to take formal steps to pass a similar measure. However, Boston officials have made efforts to protect and support the LGBTQ+ community in other ways.
