In light of the partial federal government shutdown, the Massachusetts Department of Transitional Assistance began issuing SNAP benefits for the month of February early to eligible employees that are not being paid.
Massachusetts has been deemed one of the states with the worst overall reform policies, according to national report released on March 19.
