Dear readers, I’m in love. I know, what a dramatic way to begin this article. But it’s true. This love has been with me for nearly my entire life. It is not a love defined by gender, nor is it a living being. What I’m madly in love with is live theater.

To me, live theater is one of the greatest joys in the world. But there is a limit to what can be physically put on a live stage.  

Broadway is denying opportunities to those who devote their entire lives to the performing arts by hiring social media influencers who are already very well-known — and it has begun to take away the allure of live theater
