Our ideological democratic government should not have a platform for baseless conspiracy theories, loony lies and outdated racist ideology. Certainly, influential representatives and even the U.S. President should not be enabling those voices or uplifting those platforms.
Instead of fighting with Democrats who want to help his constituents, Manchin should thank the party and the broader left for allowing him to call himself a Democrat and a great bipartisan figure.
If you consider Lincoln’s entire career, you’ll see he wasn’t a problematic president and an entirely bad man — certainly not one unworthy of having a school named after him.
