Installation of the abstracted bronze figure is expected to take place in October of 2022.

The renovation of the Boston Public Library’s Roxbury Branch finished Tuesday, nearly three years after the project began. The renovation came after years of BPL branch assessments that determined the location did not meet the needs of modern library-goers.

A 22-foot tall bronze statue titled “The Embrace” will be built on the Boston Common as a monument to Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King.
