The trying-my-best era: a gentle approach to self-improvement

Obioma Eke April 3, 2025
When implementing these practices, keep in mind that you can start whenever you want to. As a matter of fact, start as soon as possible. You do not need to wait for Monday, the end of the month or Jan. 1 to make a difference in your life.

Ask Abby (Or Analise): No more silver springs — how to let go and move on from your ex

Analise Bruno March 30, 2025
Enter the half-joke, half-serious concept of “silver springing” someone. It’s the idea that you and all the love you bring with you are unforgettable — like a ghost that will eternally haunt them.

The struggle of letting go and finding peace within yourself | The Hard Pills We Hate to Swallow

Breanna Pham March 19, 2025
I’ve learned that it’s okay not to have all the answers, and it’s okay to speak up even if it feels risky. Following your heart is important, even when it doesn’t make sense. You can’t control the future, so focus on the present and speak up when you feel compelled to do so.

A guide to romantic movies for every relationship status this Valentine’s Day

Lea Tran February 13, 2025
I hope this list was able to give you some inspiration on what to watch this Valentine’s Day. I know not everyone is on the same page when it comes to love, but no matter how or what you’re celebrating, everyone deserves to end the night with a good movie.

The art of the coloring book

Kendall Lepczyk April 18, 2024
I won my Peeps coloring book in an Easter egg hunt organized by my suitemate, and surely enough, everything changed. I was no longer growing annoyed at attempting to fill in every detailed pattern of a mandala. The lines of pink across the pages bled and overlapped together, creating a less-than-perfect composition of a rabbit. I would routinely cap my marker, place it back in the box and flip to the next page of my Dollar Tree Peeps coloring book. Despite the imperfections and out-of-line work, I was always satisfied, something eight-year-old me would’ve been proud of.

Running into my best self

Gabriella Di Dea April 17, 2024
I decided that after I got back from winter break, I would start running more frequently, except I never really knew how to run properly in the first place. I understood the concept of pacing, but I could never really figure out what my paces should be. Thankfully, I didn’t have to — queue the Nike Run Club app.

There is nothing fishy about a ‘stupid’ hobby

Gabriel Martins April 8, 2024
Anyone who has met me generally notices the unorthodox set of different hobbies that I’ve collected over the years. As a first-generation college student, I wasn’t exactly sure how to navigate the changes of life. The idea of classes, bills and adult life in general all hit me at once. I was thrown into the deep end with no way out and no life vest. Then, during spring break, I started learning about how to become a parent to a fish.

Once a reader, always a reader

Siena Griffin March 27, 2024
I was far from a troublemaker as a child, but I was frequently chastised for the one reason you would never expect an adult to take issue with. I was reading too much. But since entering college in September 2022, I’ve faced the opposite problem: I don’t read nearly enough. I’ve developed imposter syndrome of the literary kind. Do I still have the right to call myself a reader if I don’t read like I used to?

Academic planning is a major challenge

Faizaan Ayub November 13, 2023
As a freshman, I’ve been told that I have a whole four years to decide my academic and career paths. I know that I will have to settle for only one or two of my interests in the end. I entered BU with 32 AP credits. I thought this would give me an edge over my peers, potentially allowing me to graduate early. This was far from the truth.

One last curtain call

Michelle Tian April 26, 2023
Mournful and blissful. Sad and happy. Bittersweet, if you will. I've got one month left until I throw my cap in the air and say goodbye to Boston University for good.

Is my time too expensive for my life? | Is it Just Me Or

Grace Donahue April 13, 2023
Treating time like something that should be used to maximize profit — both monetarily and career-wise — is not at all how we should be living.

We can focus on the negative aspects of social media but positives are undeniably present.
