Ask Abby (Or Analise): Are all men really trash?

Analise Bruno March 2, 2025
I’m kidding, but it's important to remember why we sometimes make generalizations as a society. Not all bees will sting you, but still we’re scared of bees. We don’t say, “only some bees will sting you”  because that’s a given — it’s redundant. In that same way, no one really means all men are trash. Not all men are the same as Mr. Big.

Sincerely, Ally: E-girl meets male entitlement

Alexia Nizhny December 9, 2020
Of course, the reality is E-Pal and websites like it are an additional source of income that can be necessary for some people. I’m lucky enough to be able to stop using it at my convenience. But, if you choose to participate, it’s important to be conscious of the implications.

American Protest: The end of the Trump era

Meredith Varner November 13, 2020
There will never be a time when there is nothing to fix, so I will always have something to write about. I do see Trump leaving office as a closing of a chapter though, and I feel hopeful about the future of this country for the first time in four years.

Dear Men: Women’s sports deserve more credit

Yvonne Tang November 12, 2020
Women’s sports don’t have to be niche, and representation doesn’t have to be a feminist movement. True sports fans will enjoy watching anyone exhibit their athleticism, regardless of gender.

Dear Men: New Supreme Court will endanger non-males in US

Yvonne Tang November 6, 2020
Though conservatives poke fun at us, calling us “fake feminists” for not supporting all women because of our distaste for Barrett, we know her confirmation unleashes a future filled with dismay.

Sincerely, Ally: Footwear can be a form of personal identity

Alexia Nizhny October 22, 2020
Acknowledging the nuance between vulnerability and power has been critical in regaining control over my footwear. I want to be in a place where heels are an accessory instead of an identity. I’ll get there one day, one step at a time.

Rio’s Reel: “Enola Holmes” on Power in Society

Rio Reardon October 2, 2020
"Enola Holmes" provides not only a powerful feminist message, but a message on what it means to have power both on an individual level and in the broader context of society. That is more than applicable in the modern day.
