Ericka Correia, a junior at Boston University who now holds five local pageant titles, her most recent victory as Miss Taunton on Nov. 3 was the culmination of years of dedication — but it wasn’t always a part of her plan.

This month, the BU Police Department adopted a wellness dog named Bean, who has paw-sitively captured students’ attention. Bean is a three-month-old golden retriever from Golden Opportunities for Independence, a nonprofit organization in Walpole, Massachusetts which raises and trains puppies to be future service dogs.

Student ambassadors for energy drink companies — such as Red Bull, Celsius and Rowdy Energy — are tasked with promoting the brand’s product to their peers and the public.
