Boston City Council orders hearing to discuss reinvigorating local taxi industry

Boston City Council approved a hearing in its Feb. 1 weekly meeting that will examine initiatives to rejuvenate Boston’s taxi industry, which has suffered tremendously with the rise of ride-share apps like Uber and Lyft, according to city officials.

Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker and Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito announced in a press release Nov. 21 that the Commonwealth will implement a Pipeline Safety Management System including safety measures for the inspection and improvement of the state’s natural gas lines.
