BU needs to make a constant commitment to the cause, actively work to ensure students’ safety, dismantle the prevalent rape culture on its campus and establish trust so students will be willing to speak up and report assailants in the first place. It will never be as easy as one quick, overnight policy change.

Nearly a month after BU junior Prisha Kumar’s second open letter condemning the University’s treatment of sexual assault was released to the public — after an initial letter written in June — Kumar and the other co-founders of the @campus.surviors Instagram account organized an on-campus protest, demanding a response from the administration.

Six months after her first open letter to the University, BU student Prisha Sujin Kumar wrote a second letter to the University about her experience with sexual assault on campus, condemning the University’s treatment of her and other survivors and demanding change.
