After Boston University announced Tuesday the cancellation of next semester’s Spring Recess in addition to an extended winter break, the immediate response to this news, for most, was disappointment.

Allowing travelers from states deemed low-risk into the Commonwealth without any quarantine requirements implies a blind trust in all residents of those states to be virus-free if they are to enter Massachusetts. This is an unsafe policy for several reasons.

As Fall classes loom and Boston University gears up for in-person operations, students concerned about harmful ignorance surrounding campus safety were pushed into action, and they have some strong words to express that apprehension.
