With Mayor Marty Walsh soon to leave office and serve as Labor Secretary under the Biden administration, our city’s leadership must begin to address the difficulties we are left with. We must continue to hold our elected officials to their promises and push Boston to become a city that doesn’t thrive off of inequalities but rather fosters communities of growth and equality.
The ad hoc committee has stated its intent to report issues with BU’s COVID-19 response to the administration as well as the Senate to find solutions, according to the committee website.
Overall, the efforts BU has made on GivingTuesday should still be recognized. But, the administration should remember that in order for its fundraising to make a genuine impact, it first and foremost needs to demonstrate transparency and accountability.
