Boston University’s Senior Vice President of External Affairs Stephen Burgay announced his plans to retire on Dec. 31, ending his 20-year tenure with the University.

Boston City Council discussed a $7 million grant payment, a resolution in support of a domestic violence and sexual assault committee and a resolution recognizing Indigenous Peoples’ Day during its Wednesday meeting at City Hall Plaza.

“Whale Song,” a new public art installation created by French artist Jean-Marie Appriou to demonstrate the historical and mythological significance of whales, premiered at Boston’s Central Wharf Park on Wednesday.
