Coming off a commanding regular season and a Patriot League tournament title, the Boston University men’s soccer team is looking ahead to 2024.

Having already clinched a spot in the Patriot League Tournament with last week’s win at Bucknell University, the Boston University men’s soccer team replaced Loyola University Maryland at the top of the league table with one game left in the regular season after defeating them 3-1 on Saturday.

Over 4,000 miles separate the three cities that Alex Bonnington has called home in the last two years. He left his hometown of Rotherham and came across the pond to play soccer for Duke University in Durham, North Carolina last year, and after a season hampered by injury, he transferred to Boston University. This fall, he’s earned consistent minutes with the Terriers as the men’s soccer program looks to build on one of its strongest starts in recent history.

Men’s soccer dominates Holy Cross, wins first three Patriot League contests

Boston University men’s soccer dismantled the College of the Holy Cross at Nickerson Field on Wednesday night, scoring early and often on their way to a statement 3-0 victory. It was the first time in 22 months that the Terriers (6-2-1, 3-0-0 Patriot League) have scored three goals in a game, and they did it in just over 20 minutes.

Men’s soccer shut out for first time in loss to Merrimack
