The Boston University men’s basketball team faced off against Loyola Maryland at Case Gym on Wednesday with hopes to redeem themselves after a tight 69-67 loss in their first matchup this season at the beginning of the month.

Miles Brewster erupts with career-best 25 points as men’s basketball wins eighth-straight home game

Case Gymnasium has been good to the Boston University men’s basketball team this season. The Terriers (12-12, 6-5 PL) secured an eighth-consecutive home victory led by graduate student guard Miles Brewster's career-high 25 points, defeating Navy 87-65 on Wednesday night.

From the opening tip, the energy inside Case Gym was palpable. With a spot in the Patriot League Tournament final on the line, the Terriers jumped out to a 21-point lead late in the first half and led by 18 at the break. Despite the cushion, the second-seeded Boston University men’s basketball team (16-17, 10-8 PL) fell to the sixth seed, Lehigh University (14-17, 9-9 PL), 84-79 in overtime.

After a second half offensive eruption that saw four Terriers surpass double-digit points, the Boston University men’s basketball team triumphantly beat the Bucknell University Bison 77-62 on Saturday afternoon.

Men’s basketball clinches win in final seconds against Lehigh

Four seconds left — Boston University senior guard Miles Brewster on the foul line. A 1-point game, resting in the hands of Brewster, who was about to flip a game the Terriers trailed for the most part into a last-second win. The crowd leapt to their feet and shook Case Gym –– Brewster made both free throws, snagging a BU win over Lehigh University, 72-71.

With just seconds left, senior forward Caitlin Weimar turned around and took a right-handed hook shot as Case Gym went silent and held its breath. As the buzzer sounded, the ball swished through the net. With a roaring crowd as witness, the Boston University women’s basketball team began the 2023-2034 season with a win, beating University of Massachusetts Lowell 60-58.
