Call me biased because I ran cross country all four years of high school, but nothing is more consistent when it comes to surrounding the spirit of Boston athletics with magic than the Boston Marathon.

The marathon demonstrates how Boston traditions continue to persevere and connect us during a time of severe isolation. Perhaps it can also inspire us to fight against the COVID-19 fatigue and keep us Boston Strong through the last stretch of the pandemic.

High-flying daffodils add to marathon spirit in Seaport

Swaying in colorful unison, 20 large nylon daffodils flutter over the Seaport Common to celebrate the Boston Marathon and welcome the emergence of spring. Designed by artist Daniele Frazier, the art project “20 Knots: Daffodils for Boston” opened April 8 and runs through the end of the month.

Boston Strong Disaster Relief, a non-profit charity, is taking orders for “Boston Strong” license plates, which are unauthorized by the state, to allegedly provide support for survivors of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing.

Journalists serve the public by reporting factual information, verified by multiple sources and vetted for inaccuracies. When it comes to traumatic events that result in civilian deaths, they are responsible for bearing the weight of these tragedies while also disseminating accurate information about what’s going on at the scene.
