A homeless shelter will be opening beds and hiring medical staff as part of Mayor Michelle Wu’s plan to relocate unhoused people from the intersection of Mass. and Cass.

The Boston Resiliency Fund, launched by the Mayor’s Office on March 16, has surpassed its $20 million goal less than 10 days after its launch.

Boston Mayor Martin Walsh announced Friday that $20.6 million will be allocated for housing in the city’s 2020 fiscal year budget, an increase of 45 percent over the amount given last year.
