Newly elected Build BU hopes to reform SG

SG discusses allocation of its $15,000 Cabinet budget

Boston University’s Student Government noted in last Monday’s meeting that roughly $15,000 of their remaining budget of $21,257.41 is reserved for Cabinet events. The funding of these events is meant to foster a greater sense of community on campus and empower student groups to fulfill their missions.

BU Student Government looks to improve transparency in funding distribution

At the beginning of each academic year, the Boston University Student Government is allocated a lump sum of money — around $50,000 — with the objective of distributing the money to improve the student community. Student groups and college-specific senators within SG propose their funding requests to other senators, who vote on whether or not to grant funding.
