The incident of the failed assasination attempt turned Alexei Navalny into an international hero. If the Kremlin’s goal is to silence the opposition, it seems like putting Navalny in jail has exacerbated the problem: Thousands of protesters currently demand for his release, threatening Putin’s power and reminding him that, someday, he might have to face Navalny in the parliament elections.
Domestic violence often escalates until someone gets seriously hurt or loses their life. We cannot let it continue as women, girls and men die at the hands of these abusers. This is an issue that needs to be addressed immediately or our women will continue to suffer.
