The men’s basketball team is now less than a week away from tipping off their season opener against Northeastern University. But the grind started during the summer, when the athletes stayed on a relatively empty campus as part of their offseason schedule.

Even in the offseason, Boston University’s NCAA Division I athletes work to improve their game ahead of the upcoming fall season. While coaches and current players drill team values into their training, the recruiting classes look to build upon those principles to fit and thrive in the group dynamic.

In what can only be described as an up and down year, the 2023-2024 Boston University men’s basketball season saw it all — heartbreaking losses and moments of adversity, incredible wins and infectious confidence. Despite not reaching their end goal, a young Terrier squad battled all the way to the end.

Men’s basketball squanders first-half cushion, falls to Lehigh in the Patriot League semifinal

From the opening tip, the energy inside Case Gym was palpable. With a spot in the Patriot League Tournament final on the line, the Terriers jumped out to a 21-point lead late in the first half and led by 18 at the break. Despite the cushion, the second-seeded Boston University men’s basketball team (16-17, 10-8 PL) fell to the sixth seed, Lehigh University (14-17, 9-9 PL), 84-79 in overtime.

Men’s basketball wins fourth consecutive game against Lehigh in another overtime win
