Over the course of the last year, the Boston University community has taken steps to transform the institution’s physical and academic landscapes. In a period of time marked by a marred political climate, natural disasters and acts of terrorism that have caused contempt and frustration, the university administration has begun to implement new initiatives that will bring people and ideas together.

Two Boston University students were arrested near Thetford, Vermont on Saturday afternoon after state police troopers found alcohol, marijuana edibles and fake identifications in their car, which had been speeding at 105 miles per hour.

Admissions ambassadors petition to be paid by university

Boston University tour guides, also known as admissions ambassadors, are petitioning to get paid for their work, as they currently run tours for prospective students and their families on a volunteer basis. The petition was released just days after BU President Robert Brown announced a 3.4 percent increase in the total cost for tuition, fees, room and board.

BU to implement mandatory online sexual misconduct education course

The rise of sexual misconduct accusations in recent months, especially within entertainment and higher education, has prompted calls for reform and heightened awareness among these institutions. On Wednesday, Boston University Provost Jean Morrison announced that all BU students, faculty and staff will be required to take an online sexual misconduct education course starting next fall.
