Walking up the stairs is difficult for Boston University junior Caine Murcia. With a disability that makes half of their body go numb, they have to use an elevator to access other floors. Inaccessibility in classroom buildings impedes their ability to learn. They are not alone in their challenges.

Your guide to navigating campus on crutches

After three weeks on crutches due to a sports injury that ended in hip surgery, I suddenly found myself facing everyday challenges that made the walkable city of Boston, unwalkable. I wanted to share some advice for anyone else who finds themselves on crutches in the middle of the semester.
