In its best moments, watching the show is like talking with a stranger who’s surprisingly honest and forthcoming. The show’s refreshing projected skepticism and detachment from imposing convictions of honesty on its audiences are its best attributes and serve for a trust that is a rarity in today’s media.
Overall, New York Fashion Week was an incredible experience that I will truly never forget. I’d love to be able to go again and see even more designers. My goal for next year though— network my way to the Council of Fashion Designers of America’s exclusive runway shows.
The art of storytelling — from books, to plays, to the big screen — is a timeless form of expression, but we cannot lose ourselves to escapism within these narratives.
