Attorney and small business owner Josh Zakim defeated attorney Michael Nichols in the District 8 City Council race to fill former District 8 Councilor Michael Ross.
With all precincts reporting, Zakim received 52.52 percent of the votes, or 4,485 votes. Nichols garnered 46.90 percent, or 4,005 votes.
