The following reports were taken from the Allston-Brighton D-14 crime logs from Sept. 18 to Sept. 24.
Vandalism at school
At about 11:16 p.m. on Friday, officers responded to a call at 617 Cambridge St., Mount St. Joseph Prep School, for a vandalism report. Two door windows in the back of the school were found smashed. One of the windows was broken enough to gain entry, so the building was searched. The officers stated that everything was in order and it was unknown at the time if anything was stolen. A school van was placed against the rear door, so no one could enter using that door until it was repaired. A message was left for the principal and custodian.
Bar has too many patrons in basement
On Saturday at about 12:40 a.m., officers conducted an inspection of the Joshua Tree at 1316 Commonwealth Ave. As officers made their way to the building, they observed a line that stretched the length of the building and to adjoining residences. Inside the premise, officers observed a line of people waiting to gain entrance to the basement level. Staff members told the officers they had about 122 people downstairs. The officers observed a busy scene with many people dancing to music supplied by a disc jockey. They conducted a mechanical count, which resulted in 166 people being counted. The officers could smell marijuana throughout the basement. The officers inspected the bar’s license, and made note that the capacity of the basement is 100 people. They issued a license premise to the bar for overcrowding in excess of license capacity in the basement.
Bar plays loud music on patio
Officers conducted an inspection of The Draft bar at 34 Harvard Ave. at about 1:05 a.m. on Saturday. Once inside the building, officers went to the rear outdoor seasonal patio and observed about 68 people crowding it. They also observed music being amplified and playing on the patio for the entertainment of the patrons, but it was carrying into the neighborhood behind the bar. The officers inspected the licenses of the bar and noted that the patio was supposed to close at about 10 p.m. Officers issued a licensed premise violation for premise operating outdoor seasonal patio past curfew.
Noise complaint for house party
At about 1:07 a.m. on Sunday, officers responded to a party complaint at 15 Radnor Road. Upon arrival at the house, officers observed loud music coming from the basement of the house. The officers entered the open door and saw a DJ with about 10 people dancing to the music. There were several empty beer cars on the floor of the basement. The group dispersed without incident and there was no evidence of underage drinking at the location.
